The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona
Rolex’s ethos of ‘evolution instead of revolution‘ rings true with the modifications made to this year’s Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona. Rolex implemented upgrades to enhance this popular model’s success, function and luxury. The Cosmograph Daytona, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is known for its symbolic style and technical performance. So, to ensure one of the brand’s most iconic watches continues to have high standards, Rolex has Tweaked the range.
The collection has undergone various improvements, such as a redesigned dial with new hour markers and counter rings to enhance the chromatic contrast between registers, surrounding rings and dials. The case has also been redesigned with smoother lugs and a more refined, luxurious geometry for enhanced lightness and a contemporary look. A Cerachrom ceramic bezel now has an outer ring crafted from the same material as the case.
The Cosmograph Daytona now has the renewed calibre 4131 and Chronergy escapement that reduces energy loss, where a Paraflex shock absorber paired with ball bearings optimises the self-winding mechanism. This new calibre has a skeletonised oscillating weight and bridge decoration with the new Rolex Côtes de Genève, a delicate pattern on one of the watch’s smooth surfaces.
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Platinum 950
The new Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona is also available in 950 platinum. This model comes with an ice blue dial and dark brown ceramic bezel, with an 18ct yellow gold oscillating weight that can be seen through the transparent sapphire case-back.
The Rolex Perpetual 1908
The Perpetual 1908 is a new Rolex model that reflects the brand’s historical roots. This model is inspired by the 1931 Oyster Perpetual and is designed to be a quintessential classic with a contemporary twist.
On the new Rolex Perpetual 1908, numerals are found at 3, 9 and 12 positions. Where number 6 sits, there is a small seconds counter.
There is a choice of an 18ct yellow or white gold see-through case so you can admire the movement’s finishes, with a dual clasp that lets you easily open and close the bracelet. The new Rolex 7140 calibre boasts a self-winding movement with a Siloxy hairspring, Chronergy escapement and an anti-shock Paraflex mechanism.
The Rolex Yacht-Master 42 in Titanium RLX
A prototype of this watch was spotted on Olympic sailor Ben Ainslie’s wrist during a sailing session, so eagle-eyed spectators were expecting this release. This multi-purpose sports watch features a titanium alloy that reduces the watch’s weight while preserving the fit and finish you’d expect on any Rolex.
This watch has a greyish, technical look that combines mirror-polished touch on crown protectors, bezel grooves and satin-finish lugs. Ceramic inserts in the links improve comfort and ensure the watch is more resistant to prolonged wear, and there is an Easylink quick-extension mechanism.
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller
The Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller has undergone aesthetic updates. It has two time zones and an annual calendar, making it the ideal watch for jet setters. The range features white, yellow and rose gold options and comes with classic dial colours and two exclusive colours: mint green and blue-green.
Further features of the updated Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller include a Saros calendar that needs to be manually updated between February and March. A ring-command system allows you to activate and adjust the various functions by rotating the bezel. What’s more, the Rolex calibre 9002 allows for two time zones in a 24-hour format to be displayed.
The Rolex GMT-Master 2
There are new versions of the Rolex GMT-Master 2 available. Like all GMT-Master 2 watches, the bidirectional rotating bezel means you can measure up to three time zones at once.
This latest watch is available in 18ct yellow gold and yellow Rolesor variants and comes with a Jubilee bracelet. For the first time, the Cerachrom disc comes with a black and grey ceramic insert.
The Rolex Explorer 40
Rolex has added to the collection by creating a 40mm variant. This clean-looking watch is a favourite among Rolex wearers, with many longing for something slightly larger than the 36 version after the recently discontinued 39mm model.
The bigger Rolex Explorer 40 has a full satin finish, creating a robust look with no frills. Moreover, it features enhanced Chromalight performance, allowing for clear readability in dark environments.
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 31, 36 and 41 Bubble
Rolex has gone one step further with its creativity on the new Oyster Perpetual ‘celebration motif’ dial, nicknamed Bubble dial. The new dial is only available in three Oyster Perpetual sizes: 31mm, 36mm and 41mm. With a case and bracelet made from stainless steel, this watch is created with Rolex’s classic form and function.
The dial features various colours, such as candy pink, light turquoise, yellow, coral red and green. The Oyster Perpetual 31 has the 2232 calibre, ensuring a 55-hour power reserve. The 36 and 41 variants house the 3230 calibres and are equipped with a blue Parachrom hairspring and Chronergy escapement, offering an impressive power reserve of 70 hours.
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36
The Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 models have new designs with precious stone dials. There are three new variants: Everose gold with a green aventurine dial and crystallised surface, 18ct yellow gold with an orange carnelian dial and 18ct white gold with a turquoise dial.
With the new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 models, you’ll get a gold or 950 platinum President bracelet and a hidden Crown clasp that opens easily through the Rolex-shaped lever.
The Rolex Day Date 36 Puzzle
The colourful Day-Date Puzzle has inspirational words on the upper window where the day of the week usually shows, including hope, eternity, peace, love, happy, faith and gratitude. 31 emojis also show in the 3 o’clock window where the date usually displays and change daily.
Instead of the usual Rolex indexes, these have been replaced by ten coloured baguette-shaped sapphires, giving the watch extra flair.
